唯一無二の書体を創出するブランド DharmaType
Dharma Typeは、世界中のデザイナーに唯一無二のフォントを提供すべく、恒川龍一氏により2005年に立ち上げられたプロジェクトです。
デザインワークの細かなニーズに応えられるよう、レトロ・クラシックなものから実験的・未来的なものまで、また、格式張ったものから気楽に使えるものまで、幅広い書体デザイン。
Dharma Typeがリリースしてきた多くの欧文書体は、数々の出版物はもちろん、“La la land”などの映画タイトル、ブランドロゴ、ポスターなどさまざまなメディアでも活用されています。
作家紹介
恒川龍一 (つねかわりょういち・1978年生まれ)
Dharma Type 代表者・書体デザイナー。名古屋大学で建築工学を学ぶ。
学生時代から書体、とりわけ「デ・ステイル」「アーツアンドクラフツ運動」「アールデコ」「モダニズム」「バウハウス」といった歴史的なデザイントレンドとタイプフェイスデザインの関係について関心を持つ。
大学院修士課程修了後、東京で建築系エンジニア (構造フレーム設計・耐力計算 etc.) として働いたのち、フリーランスのグラフィックデザイナーを経て、2005年 自身の書体ファウンドリ Dharma Type を設立。

Future
ロボットアニメーションやアーケードゲームのロゴ等に着想を得た幾何学的なデザインの書体。テクノやSFをイメージさせる未来的な雰囲気でありながら、懐かしさも感じられます。映画やゲーム、キャラクターのロゴに適しています。
